This morning I woke up, sipped my morning coffee, and chatted about upcoming Christmas shopping chaos on the couch with my GF. Suddenly, I received an Instagram notification on my phone from @FujifilmX_US. To my complete surprise they they had shared one of my photos from a Manhattan Beach, CA pier photo excursion. Of course, like anyone would I jumped off the couch and ran around the house in celebration.

There was (and still is) an opportunity to submit photos for them to post to their Insta for their #MyFujifilmLegacy series, and honestly - I didn’t think I had a shot at being featured. I figured there are hundred’s of AWESOME photographers submitting and I’d just be another one to sift through. I’m shocked and honored they chose my photo to be featured. Nothing feels better than getting a little recognition by the company who created the device you use to craft your art!

Photography has been and always will be a passion for me. I love just taking my X-T3 out wherever I go and look for opportunities to shoot. Instagram has been a great platform to share on - and the Fujifilm community has been welcoming and informative whether it’s on Reddit, Youtube or Insta. I still feel like there’s a lot to learn - and there’s always room to improve. But as a starting point, for me, this is pretty damn cool. Thanks to you all & Fujifilm for the support! Much love & stay creative!

David Coman | Science 37 CEO

It has been an awesome creative adventure working with Science 37 to help them achieve their goals in media & marketing. They provide me opportunity to continually pivot roles from video, to audio, motion graphics, voiceover, web design, and now photography - it’s truly everything I love! Grateful to the core!

I was recently asked to photograph Science 37’s new CEO David Coman for their upcoming press release. This was a great opportunity to take advantage of some new gear I purchased and techniques I’ve learned over the years. David was a good sport and came off calm and comfortable; even though he was going through the whirlwind of CEO meet & greets and responsibilities.

I recognized the raw power the Fujifilm gear has from the moment I got my hands on them. I worked a little backwards though - starting with video and then practicing more photography on the system in my free time. This particular photo was taken on the X-T3 with the XF55-200mm f3.5-4.8 lens. I purchased the lens off a friendly craigslister for a really great price - it was BARELY used - to the point of where the gears were still so tight extending the lens was like turning molasses. The reviews on this lens were all glowing - as I’ve been witnessing on many of the Fuji XF lenses. I didn’t really know what I was going to shoot with it, but am coming to realize that it’s extremely versatile and so far has provided some really excellent crisp landscape images, along with some beautiful bokeh. I haven’t seen much on it in terms of portraiture or headshots - probably because more people lean towards the 56mm f1.2 (it will be mine…oh yes, it will be mine.). If you’re a Fuji user thinking about adding the 55-200mm to your kit - I say go for it! No regrets!

As any creative would feel - it’s a dream come true to have my work put out into the world by anyone other than myself. The possibilities are truly endless and exciting opportunity with this gear is certainly around the corner!
